Forward Fashion Project, #3

Third round of Bib + Tuck's Forward Fashion Project is up next and I got this pretty

sick Gryphon coat to style up! Was pretty excited to wear this coat since I don't have anything like it- it's fresh, its cool and I knew I had to play with different patterns to make it more interesting.

The coat was perfect for the L.A weather we are having right now- between 70-80 degrees- it was light enough to cover me from the chilly breeze.

Since i've been on a sneaker marathon (forget the heels!), I decided to pair up my on-the-go look with my new Purcell's to run around town in getting my errands done.

I love that it dresses down this whole look without it looking too simple.

To finish off the look, I threw on my fave glasses to wear for the whole day (not just to drive like I always do) and braided my hair- ended up taking off the braid because it just wasn't doing it for me,

it happens sometimes, right?

Picked this faux fur vest at the Long Beach flea market last weekend and so happy I did ( I contemplated quite a lot whether to take it or not). After trying it on a couple of times, putting it on hold and walking around to see if I found something better, I ended up coming back and buying it.

Really happy I did; its so warm, cozy and perfect for the cold weather in nyc next month!

Forward Fashion Project, #2

Finally received my second item for the Forward Fashion Project a couple days ago! Was a little skeptical on how I was going to wear it because it seemed too fancy for what I normally wear, but I was totally up for the challenge.... it's what I signed up for anyway.

So as you know, I love dressing things down (must be the Cali in me) so I threw on this cool and versatile sweater I picked up earlier this week. The neutral color of the sweater definitely makes a good contrast against the color & print of the clutch, I'm all about the right balance, ya know?

I also did love that the clutch was big enough to fit my camera and ipad- talk about a handy bag!

So excited to share this shoot!

Back in December, I had the absolute pleasure of working with one of my most favorite places- the Americana at Brand (which is a complete one-stop shop/dine/entertainment outdoor

shopping mall in Glendale, CA) The ad campaign which comes out every month features one of their favorite local tastemakers where they spend a whole day at the Americana shopping and eating at their favorite places while sharing what they love most about the Americana! I was lucky- and flattered, to be chosen to be a part of this super fun campaign for the month of January. We visited and shopped at some of my fave stores like Barney's CO OP, Free People, Madewell, Sephora, H&M and ate a delicious italian sandwhich at Deluca's while being photographed.

I had such an amazing time spending the whole day at the Americana and getting to know such inspirational team of women behind this project.

The shoot was shot by the super talented and sweet Jennifer Young whose cute blog you can find here.

Definitely planning on working with Jen again since I LOVED her work- hii Jen!

Thank you to the Americana for making me a part of this campaign...and a special thank you to

the lovely Haewan Addis for putting it together, Jennifer for shooting such amazing shots and the genius Cleo Murane for being the creative force behind it and everyone else involved.

Currently experiencing a warm winter here in the city of angels, and although I don't mind running around in bare legs, shorts, flats, dresses and sunglasses- jealous?- it does get a little nippy in the late afternoon forcing me to throw on a light weight scarf/jacket while also adding a pop of color!

Anyway, in cooler news... I'm pretty thrilled to be involved in Bib + Tuck's Forward Fashion Project where 10 bloggers will style, blog then swap 10 pieces from 10 different designers over the course of 10 weeks... whew! That was a lot of 10's!

To kick off the project, my first item I received was this amazing body-con Cut25 dress!

A few of my fave detail shots from my birthday party!

1. The tassel garland was a total DIY by my sister and I- despite being so time consuming and elaborate, it turned out so pretty!

The keep calm signage was a total complement to the garland!

2. These adorable photo props were made by my sister and bf! They're so crafty!

3. My older sister put together this beautiful floral arrangement (plus a few others) as decor for the pastry/food table!

4. We had my fave!- Macaroons from none other than Bottega Louie.

5. Closer shot of the tassel garland that I'm excited to hang in my room now.

A huge, special thank you to my sister and brother-in-law for hosting such a pretty party for me and for their hard work and time, as well as my older sister and her husband for being a big help in contributing with the food/decorations and their time and last but not least, my lovely bf, for helping in anything that we needed and making the cute photo props! Thank you guys, meant the world! Love you all to pieces.

It's my biiiiiirthday today!

So excited to be a year older,

so in honor of my birthday, I had to do a birthday shoot...i mean, duh..only made sense right?

It ended up being a super quick and unplanned (so bummed out about that) shoot with what i wore/makeup/hair/location/props. I was going to do a super fun, almost editorial looking shoot

but my hectic schedule this week interfered so I wasn't able to shoot.

Anyway, still had fun playing around with confetti and confetti guns (hence the last photo!)

Oh and how pretty are my metallic #DIY numbered pinatas? LOVE them!

My sister was very sweet to make them for me ( Thank you sis!!); they served as my

chandelier piece for my birthday party that we had over the weekend!

So with the new year just being a few days old, why not celebrate with new jewelry?

Was so excited when I got this adorable package from Albeit yesterday with this bad ass triangle pendant necklace- I had been eyeing for awhile! It is seriously the coolest thing ever.

So dainty and it sits right between my two clavicle bones. I love that from a far the only thing you see

is the small, triangle pendant! Major swoon!

Lucky me!

Will probably wear this little thing everyday- just a a fair warning!

Fall is definitely one of my fave seasons, especially because I get to wear many hats- literally.

The past month I've been on a hat crave, maybe it's the fact that I'm kinda sick of my hair/bangs and want a new look, so I'm hidin' underneath such item. Definitely not minding the different looks a hat can bring though; this day I wore my floppy hat over the weekend to grab a quick lunch.

It covered me from the glaring sun while also hiding my awkward stage bangs.

Christmas Shopping update:

So, I'm having the worst luck getting all my gifts- spent nearly 6 hours at the mall yesterday and was

completely unsuccessful. Only bought 1 gift! Pretty ridic.

I ended up buying stuff for me- which I hated myself for- but I just couldn't resist!

Will try and post some of the stuff i've bought/acquired the last couple of days..or should I say, I'll make a "haul" of the things I've bought as the the youtuber's like to call it.

Anyway, round 3 continues today and I hope I get everything checked off my shopping list- nothing

worst than doing last minute shopping- dreaaaaadful.

One of my favorite things is mixing stripes with different prints; it can definitely be tricky pairing prints though but the key to getting it 'right' is to stay in the same color family and to have one of the prints be of smaller scale than the other - this way both prints balance each other out and don't clash!

My new Warby Parker glasses came in last week and was extremely excited to finally have

prescription glasses that were cool enough to wear the whole day and not just when I'm driving or

watching tv/movies. I was a little disappointed when the eye doctor requested that I wear

my glasses everyday, all day otherwise my eyesight will get worse! Like really?

So per his request, I've been wearing them everyday, all day. It feels a bit weird and I'm still trying to

get used to it but I love my new specs that I don't think I'll mind from now on...

so just a heads up, I might be wearing glasses on my posts from now on (depending how I feel

of course).

Hi guys! Kinda excited for today's post..

I'm sure you guys have all heard/seen the uber cool label, Sachin + Babi, right?

Especially as of late... they've been on my radar the past few months. Sachin and Babi is a husband and wife design couple who hail from India... they began in textiles and run Ankasa, their own interior high-end decorating line and now Sachin + Babi, their super chic RTW line! Neiman Marcus. Not only was it exciting to shop for some of my must-have items on my wishlist but

it was also exciting because they now accept Visa + Mastercard- ooooooooh yes!

A quick run to Starbucks on a gloomy day always seems to brighten up my day since I get cold easily.

My vanilla latte with whip cream always does the trick of keeping me warm, plus for some

reason it's such a "cool accessory" to be carrying around with your clutch.

ps. love wearing sneakers on days where heels seem dreadful, especially ones without shoe laces!

My mom has a pair of pearl earrings that she treasures in a pretty jewelry box and as much as

I would love to wear them, I always stop myself from borrowing them just because I don't

want to lose them.

I've always loved pearls; they're pretty, timeless and when paired with other jewelry like

a chunkier rhinestone necklace, it makes for an interesting mix.

So since I've never owned anything with pearls, I'm super excited to own this

MIKIMOTO pearl necklace because I know that it will be a lifetime piece. sigh.

I wore this skirt for an ad campaign we shot with the Americana at Brand last week (which by the way was one of the most fun shoots I've done, thank you Americana!!) and it has
to be the most eye catching and comfortable skirt I probably own.
Definitely has a fall-esque feel which I needed since I need to fill up my closet with
more fall appropriate pieces like this.

I apologize for the slow down in posts; was hardly at home last week to actually update but
I'm glad today starts a new week because I've missed posting so expect one everyday!

So since it's already starting to get chilly and feel like fall in L.A, I was on the hunt
for some good new leather tall boots. Finally got lucky this weekend with these vintage ones
which by the way are a lot better than buying new ones; they're perfect. Worn in, distressed
and 10 times cheaper. I love me a good deal- thank goodness that's
crossed off my wishlist.

Spending the evening at Kelly Wearstler's home has got to be on my top favorite things I've gotten to do.
She's been one of my all-time favorite creative influences and have always appreciated her work,
sense of style, and keen eye. As a creative person myself,
I definitely look at her work in a different light. I pay attention to every detail and thought out composition she puts together because to me it's not just interior design, it's art.
Kelly was so charming and sweet to talk to and loved that she was fascinated to listen to us about our
blogs!

From being surrounded by inspiring people, to a special performance by her two kids, and a delicious dinner you would diiiiie for it was definitely a night to remember.

This was one look out of 4 that we did and this is actually my favorite out of the 3
just because it's feels really "me", plus I'm wearing some of my favorite things
like: fringe, leather, sheer + fall colors.

The looks were fall inspired outfits; fortunately for LA folks we still get some warmth
throughout our fall season so I'm still able to wear shorts or skirts!

Yesterday afternoon, I attended the Victoria Secret Tea Party with VS Angel Lindsay Ellingson to check out her new line of perfume and bras called 'Gorgeous' .

It was the prettiest tea party I've ever been to with an intimate group of 5 other bloggers and Lindsay;

we chatted about fashion, blogging, her career as an Angel and her favorite things she loves doing.

Had so much fun meeting her (soooooooooo sweet and down-to-earth) and snackin' on the delicious

pastries! We then headed to the Grove to finish the evening shopping at the Victoria Secret store!

I picked up a few items that I had been meaning to get; never really realized what big of a difference a good bra can make.

P.s Woke up feeling a little sick today, so hopefully I can get back into my groove tomorrow.

This was my second day in NYC; I was on my way to a quick stop at a local deli in Soho for some lunch before I headed to an event. It happened to be so hot this day that all you really wanted to wear was something really light because the humid hot weather was unbearable; hence this super light printed
dress- it was perfect. I picked up these booties earlier that day because I couldn't bear to walk in my heels anymore so I made a quick stop at the gap and spotted these which were such a deal and oh-so-fly! Definitely will be in heavy rotation for the fall which by the way I'm so excited about, aren't you?
Now that I've experienced my first nyfw, I'll definitely go a lot more prepared next time in regards to my
footwear choices (like having an extra pair of flats in my bag is def a must), band-aid's and other minor things.
Anyway, will be posting regular outfits next week since my nyc outfit photos were super quick and not that many photos per outfit. That's what happens when you're in nyc, everything is just so fast paced.

So here I am hanging in the Meatpacking district for a lovely visit at the House of Bumble salon to get my hair did (blow dry and bangs trim, thank you Tashina + Kyle!!)
and after headed backstage to check out the Wes Gordon hair/makeup presentation and chat
with lead stylist Travis Speck!
I started off my day really early (7am, <--more on this soon) wearing my fave booties (green proenza schoulers) and after soooo much walking from Times Square to Soho to the Meatpacking District, I gave up and switched to my backup flats! The cobble stone streets in the meatpacking
district are no joke people; you can literally break your ankles wearing such high heels!
Wasn't taking any risks so I happily switched!

NYC has taken me by storm; it's been nuts.So excuse my lack of posting, posting.

I was interviewed by the lovely Catt Sadler for E!News!! It felt so surreal! It was such a fun interview

about trends, NYFW, Fashion Night Out, bloggers, etc. She was extremely sweet and I'm excited

for you guys to check out the interview which I believe will be airing tonight at 7pm and 11 pm (East coast and West coast) on the E! channel.

Now, I'm off to host my Topshop event so hopefully I'll see some of you guys there!

Flew in yesterday morning, and spent the day roaming around Soho since I had a free day

yesterday! Was caught in the pouring rain in the middle of Times Square afterwards and it was magical!

Hi guys! Sorry for the lack of outfit posts; been enjoying my summer/beach days way too much to snap photos of what I'm

wearing! Will resume this week though with new outfits + my NYC adventures!!!

I'm way too excited about attending nyfw, but I'm a little stumped on what I'm packing/wearing.

I have so many things to do to prepare for it that of course I'm leaving it last minute.

I'll soak in the gorgeous beachy weather we're having in LA for now before I take off, hence these quick summery photos!

I love me some day light sparkles; pairing it with something less fancy like leather shorts definitely

makes it more daytime appropriate, not that I follow rules but you know?

Loving MAC's new Rebel A51 from their Summer Collection; a good alternative to my

everyday NYC 319 pink lipstick. I like the subtle wine color it gives me; will be perfect for fall.

Really excited for September to arrive, so many things happening, but I'm mostly looking

forward to the fall season. For now though, I'll just concentrate on my trip to New York next week for fashion week! So excited!

Haven't been back to NY in years since we flew out there because my sister was a

guest judge on Project Runway!

This time will be different though because

1) it's fashion week, duh!

and

2) I have this thing called a blog now that helps me connect with people, readers and other bloggers

which will be awesome to meet finally!

Excited to meet so many of you! So leave any recommendations, although frankly, I won't have time

to do any sight-seeing, bummer!

With this insane, I mean, pretty bananas hot weather, (reachin' 100+ degrees) it makes it a
little unbearable to be out and about at times.

All I can really do is sip on piña coladas, hang at the beach on weekends, and wear all white
ensembles to keep cool. I'm not complaining by any means... in fact, I'm in paradise!
Anyway, picked up this easy-breezy dress last week
and wore it out this weekend for a fun night out in the town, aka downtown L.A.

After looking everywhere online for my Lush blouse in my Camel-eon post for you all, my

Over the weekend, I went with my girl to her friends pool party where they offered facial + massages (my kind of party btw)
which was the perfect way to start off the weekend.
I was looking forward to getting a massage, since it's been much
needed, but unfortunately I was enjoying laying out pool side, the cool breeze, dippin' my
toes in the pool and taking 10 minute naps in between that I totally missed getting one. { bummer }
Still enjoyed the gorgeous weather, conversation + my wine cooler! Btw, I love bandeau top bathing
suits; they're PERFECT for even tanning!

Oh, got soooooo many emails yesterday and comments regarding the Lush blouse from my last post!
I purchased it at a small clothing store in L.A, they don't have a website so I don't know where
you guys can purchase it online. If you live in LA, then go to the Santee Alley and you're sure
to find it there in any of the stores there. If I come across a site that carries it, I will post it
on the blog! Thank you guys for all the sweet comment on yesterdays post!

Happy Monday!

Picked up this blouse last friday and I've literally worn it almost everyday since, in different ways.
Completely obsessed with the silhouette, color, pleats, and the unfinished hemline.

On second thought, I should have bought the other two colors, again (in lavender + black)...
what is up with me and wanting to buy the same piece in all colors?

Friendship bracelet: American Eagle + Vintage necklace worn as anklet with Pierre Hardy heels

Lately I've been feeling so inspired to try new things and one of them has been seeing the anklets return and wearing

cool friendship bracelets around my ankle! I added some sparkle to make it more glam, oooh I'm fancy!

I absolutely love this! A few of my close friends have been wearing their's tooo...it totally looks so pretty and fun!

This ankle candy works well with delicate/soft heels, nothing chunky.

Had to go back and get the Coffee + Black suede skirts after I purchased the Rust one this past weekend.

They are not only the perfect fit, length and color but will be the right pieces for transitioning
into the fall season.
Yes, they run true to size as some of you had asked in my previous post.
